Anxiety

A short poem about mental health, reminding you all that you are not alone with whatever issues you might be dealing with in today's chaotic world. Remember, you're allowed some time to yourself to relax and drink something nice whilst being all cosy in a blanket!

I would like to think less

like a chaos storm booming,

tight compressions of the chest

are like drums gone mad.

The thump thump of thoughts

swirl soundlessly, it’s bad.

That small breath you take

before trying to push on

but the movements are fake?

You’re a blank canvas.

No says life, no says your bank,

working ‘till you drop is the way!

Who cares if you feel blank,

blank like your empty plate?

The thought should end here

before the anxiety is too great,

you know that to be true!

Don’t be the blank canvas.

Take a breath, I have anxiety too.
